DNsoft.be Website Counter(s) Info

1 - Our main visitors counter increments its value only at each visitor connection but not at pages refresh or changes.
So the displayed value is the real total of visitors...
2 - The Hits counter increments each time a user visits the website including refreshes and reloads.
3 - The counter used for your own visits (at the left top of the header) uses cookies (no data are used by DNsoft.be) and gives you the number of vist(s) you made on our website.
4 - The "Online visitors" counter is based on a CGI script and is a real-time counter.
We set the script supposing that a user stays 60 seconds online.
The script records the time and the IP address (*)
Another script polls the server each 10 seconds to count the visitors online.
If a user stays less than 60 seconds, it will be erased from the counter maximum 60 seconds after left.
If he stays more than 60 seconds, each 10 seconds (at server polling) the script modifies the connection time to the new current time.
(*) The users IP addresses are NOT recorded in another database and NOT used for any other function than count the online visitors.

Note that this is the usual practical for counting visitors on websites
